Planning an Event
Horsham Rural City Council is committed to supporting tourism within the municipality and recognisers the value of events to the tourism industry and the region’s wider economy. Major events can provide an economic injection into the community by increasing visitation to the region, increasing awareness of the region, reducing seasonality gaps and engendering community spirit and pride
.
Producing a well managed event involves careful planning and knowledge. To aid and support community groups in their endeavours, Council is committed to working with communities to support their strength, resilience and resourcefulness.
Events can range in size from a local market, sporting competitions, conferences, as well as musical and art festivals. It is important that you speak to council to find out the process for community grant applications, approval processes, permits and support.
Event Organisers are asked to understand the Public Event Framework document. See follow link https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/public-events-information-for-organisers
