SPIRIT OF THE WIMMERA
Join the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre as they head for Western Victoria including a journey on the rarely travelled Hopetoun and Rainbow branches.
Day 1 – Friday 4 October 2024
Join us from Seymour, Southern Cross or North Shore as we journey out west on the main line towards Adelaide. Settle back and take in the sights of the You Yangs and the western grazing district. Perhaps join friends for a drink in the iconic Parlor car as we race towards Horsham. Refreshments will be available for purchase in our onboard kiosk and a light lunch is included in your fare. On arrival you will be transferred to you hotel for check in.
Day 2 – Saturday 5 October 2024
Today you may wish to stay in Horsham for the day or join one of our option trips:
- Join a short shuttle to Murtoa to take in all the fun of the Murota Big Weekend activities, Murtoa Races, visit the spectacular Stick Shed, view the silo art or visit the local museums.
- Or enjoy one of our two optional day tours including a visit to the spectacular Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park
- Or join us for a full day on the train to Beulah, viewing silo art at Sheep Hills and enjoying the long table lunch at Beulah
Day 3 – Sunday 6 October 2024
Today you may wish to stay in Horsham for the day or join one of our option trips:
- Or join our day out to the rarely travelled Rainbow Branch with two options:
- Disembark at Jeparit to visit the local museum, explore and have lunch (BYO – not included)
- Disembark at Rainbow and visit historic Yurunga Homestead and have lunch (optional lunch avaialbe)
- Both options allow for you to visit the silo art at Arkona
NOTE: Passengers wanting to return to Melbourne early may join the ‘Overland’ this afternoon from Dimboola at 1:30pm or Horsham at approx. 2pm (own expense). Seats may be available to be booked through V/Line for this service.
Day 4 – Monday 7 October 2024
Rejoin the train this morning at Horsham. Enjoy a light lunchas we retrace our journey back toe North Shore, Melbourne or Seymour and the end of our Wimmera weekend adventure.
