Travelling to Wartook Valley

Travel the western highway to Dadswell’s Bridge. Here you have two choices. A left turn into Roses Gap Road or continue towards Horsham and turn at Mt Zero Road, will see you venturing close to the mountain range.

This area comes alive with spectacular wildflowers from July until November. Roses Gap Road takes you past camping grounds, waterfalls, bushwalking tracks, an array of accommodation and services and through the gap.

This is the eastern gateway to the Wartook Valley. From Dadswell’s Bridge, you can remain on the Western Highway and travel north. Turn left towards Mt Zero and proceed past accommodation and olive groves. You are entering the Wartook Valley.

From the Great Ocean Rd, you have two choices, the quick way straight up the Henty Hwy through Cavendish or the longer and more scenic route which takes you through Dunkeld and Halls Gap (currently closed).

From Halls Gap you take the Mount Victory Rd  passing the Wonderland Ranges, Boroka Lookout, Reeds Lookout and McKenzies Falls. This is a perfect route to take during the day as you can stop and take in some of the sites along the way. If you are bringing your caravan, you may wish to take the Henty Hwy as the Mt Victory Rd is a windy mountain road.

If you are travelling from either Adelaide, Coonawarra, Naracoorte caves or Horsham you proceed down the western highway to an intersection about 15 minutes south-east of Horsham. This is the Northern Grampians Road and on turning right you are entering the Wartook Valley.
